Dubbelzijdige borstel wennen bij puppy

How do I get my puppy used to brushing?

How you brush a Labradoodle evolves with its coat. For example, the puppy coat requires a different approach than an adult coat. For your puppy, use a double-sided brush.

Brushing is, of course, a new experience for your little friend. That can be quite exciting. Therefore, start getting your puppy used to brushing from the second week your puppy is home.

And how to get your doodle used to it in 3 steps, you can read in this blog.

Getting used to the double-sided brush in 3 steps:

1. Pet your puppy with your hand

Pet him in different places such as his paws, nose, ears, and tail. This way, your little friend will get used to different touches. Does your puppy like this? Then it's time for step 2!

2. Brush with the soft side

Take the double-sided brush and alternate petting with brushing. For this, use the soft side of the brush. Try to pet less and brush more. Is this going well? Then it's time for the last step.

3. Brush with the metal pins

Now use the other side of the brush. Still build up by petting less and brushing more. The coat now has hardly any tangles, so it won't hurt.

It's a new experience for your puppy. Therefore, it's important to do this for only a few minutes at a time. As your puppy gets older, you can make it longer. The most important thing is that it's an enjoyable experience for both of you.
