How should I wash a Labradoodle?
Sharing with another owner
Is your doodle really dirty? Then it's time for a wash. In this blog, you'll learn how to wash your doodle in 7 steps. Let's wash!
What do you need?
Step-by-step plan:
Step 1: brush knots and dirt from the coat
Brush through the coat with a double-sided brush. Make sure all dirt and knots are out of the coat.
Step 2: wet the coat
Make sure to wet the coat down to the skin. Use pleasantly warm water for this.
Step 3: lather with shampoo
- Take a small amount of shampoo (not too much, so the natural oil layer of your dog remains healthy).
- Massage the shampoo into the coat without making circular movements.
- Rinse out the shampoo.
Step 4: apply conditioner
- Distribute a small amount of conditioner over your dog.
- Massage it into the coat without making circular movements.
- Rinse out the conditioner.
Step 5: dry with the microfiber towel and the water blower
- First, wring the coat out with your hands.
- Towel-dry the coat with a microfiber towel.
- Blow dry with the water blower. (Never let your doodle air dry, otherwise tangles will form)
- Make sure you can see the skin well everywhere.
Step 6: comb knots out of the coat
Comb through the coat one last time to check for knots. Make sure the coat is completely dry before combing.
Step 7: spray with coat spray
This provides the finishing touch for your doodle. It ensures that dust collects less easily on the hair. And of course, it provides a beautiful shine.
Now your best friend is fresh and clean again!
